Unfortunate Incident at National Championship: Rising Star Shreyas Dies After High-Speed Crash
Chennai,(PTI) : Bengaluru’s Kensri School prodigy, Shreyas, had the racing world on its feet with an astonishing streak of victories at the National level. But on a fateful day, his dreams came crashing down in a devastating race accident that shook the motorsports community.
Born in 2010, Shreyas was destined for greatness from the start. Winning race after race in the rookie category of the Petronas TVS One-Make Championship, he seemed unstoppable. Today, tragedy struck as he took the pole position in the rookie race, only to meet with a life-threatening crash at Turn-1.
The red flag flew instantly, and Shreyas was rushed to a nearby hospital in a trauma care ambulance. The entire racing world held its breath, praying for his recovery, but the news that followed was heart-wrenching – he was pronounced dead on arrival.
MMSC president Ajit Thomas expressed his sorrow, saying, “It is tragic to have lost a rider so young and talented. Shreyas, who was making waves with his prodigious racing talent, was provided medical assistance on the spot immediately after the incident and taken to the hospital.”
This weekend’s program was canceled as a mark of respect for the young star. The racing community joins in offering heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
Shreyas’ incredible skills had already earned him accolades overseas. After winning the MiniGP India title, he competed in Spain, showcasing his talent with remarkable fifth and fourth-place finishes in two MiniGP races.
The young sensation was set to make his mark at the MSBK Championship 2023 in Malaysia, representing team CRA Motorsports in the fiercely competitive 250cc category (Group B). Tragically, the world will never witness the promising future that Shreyas could have had in the racing world.
