Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘I Want to Talk’ Gets Positive Reviews but Flops at the Box Office

I want to talk

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan’s highly anticipated film ‘I Want to Talk’ hit the big screens on November 22. While the film received positive reviews from the audience, it failed to make a significant impact at the box office. The movie had an underwhelming opening day, marking one of the lowest box-office debuts in Abhishek’s career.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘I Want to Talk’ barely earned ₹25 lakhs on its opening day, which is far from the expected ₹1 crore milestone. This disappointing performance has made it one of the worst box office starts for the actor. Despite this, there is still hope that the movie might perform better in the coming days, thanks to its favorable word-of-mouth and audience reviews.

I want to talk

If we look back at Abhishek’s career, this film’s performance is reminiscent of his ‘Dhai Akshar Prem’ (2000), which also struggled at the box office. That film, featuring his wife Aishwarya Rai and directed by Raj Kumar, was another low point in his early career. Though ‘I Want to Talk’ has garnered better reviews, the numbers on the board tell a different story.

In ‘I Want to Talk’, Abhishek plays the role of Arjun, a father caught in a complex relationship with his daughter, which leads him to a life-altering decision involving surgery. The film, based on the delicate dynamics of father-daughter relationships, also stars Johnny Lever, Banita Sandhu, Ahilya Bamro, and Pierle Mane in pivotal roles. The film’s focus on the emotional struggles of a father trying to mend his bond with his daughter resonated well with viewers, but it didn’t quite translate into ticket sales.

Despite the setback, Abhishek Bachchan has some exciting projects lined up in the near future. He will soon be seen in ‘Be Happy’, where he will reprise his role as a father. Additionally, he will star in the highly awaited ‘King’ directed by Sujoy Ghosh, alongside Shah Rukh Khan. In this action thriller, Abhishek will play the role of a villain, marking a significant departure from his previous roles. The film, which also stars Suhana Khan, is set to be a thrilling ride and could be a game-changer for Abhishek’s career.

Despite the box-office flop, Abhishek Bachchan’s future looks promising with his upcoming projects, which continue to generate excitement among his fans.
